About the Standard Chinchilla:
The Standard Chinchilla originated in France and was first introduced after the First World War. The coat color is distinctive: the undercolor of the fur should be slate blue at the base, the middle portion pearl grey, merging into white and tipped with black, much like the chinchilla, the fur-producing rodent after which they are named.
